In recent years he has published two scholarly monographs and three co-authored books, together with more than forty research articles. While continuing to teach and pursue academic inquiry, he has devoted equal energy to public service, directing over a hundred commissioned projects and supplying more than ten policy-consultation reports that have been adopted by the National Ethnic Affairs Commission, provincial and municipal CPPCC committees, and other government agencies.
